o GUSTAVO JOBIM: JACKSON POLLOCK #1 (2'55")
The playing technique is inspired by Pollock's painting. The idea is to do a transposition of the painting to music. For this first recording, I made a drawing more or less in the same style, to serve as score/guidelines to the music.

The Jackson Pollock series is also part of a bigger series, "Abstract Paintings" (working title), a compilation of recent and older recordings that's in the oven.

Dedicated to Thelmo Cristovam, long time musical partner. The title refers to Paisagens Sonoras em Õstro Hyija (Soundscapes in Õstro Hyija), second album by HRÖNIR, electroacoustic music duo formed by Thelmo e Túlio Falcão.

BACK TO ÕSTRO HYIJA (De Volta à Õstro Hyija) is part of "Abstract Paintings" (working title), an ongoing project of new instant compositions in the electroacoustic vein. I've been recording new pieces in thie style since last November; soon, I'll have enough material for a new release.

o S.O.M. on the radio: MEC FM Rio de Janeiro, 98,9 MHz (it's the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture official radio station) - Rádio Escuta Show (= Radio Listening), produced and presented by Lilian Zaremba, May 3rd, 2006. On this show Filipe Giraknob, producer of the event S.O.M. (Seres Operando Matéria = Beings Operating Matter), presents artists from Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco that have participated on the event and speaks about the Rio de Janeiro electroacoustic scene.
