("Seres Operando Matéria" means "Beings Operating Matter". SOM is the Portuguese word for "sound".)

o GUSTAVO JOBIM
o HRÖNIR (Thelmo Cristovam with Filipe Giraknob and Fernando S. Torres)
o FRITHLANG (Fábio Oliveira with MMeNDES, and visual projections by Cláudio Monjope)

Text used as advertisement for the event:

"In this edition we will first have GUSTAVO JOBIM with his synthesizer which works like an orchestra. The setlist is made of textures and moods similar to those of krautrock and the minimalist made by Steve Reich and Philip Glass, but with electronic colours.

Then the group HRÖNIR, from Pernambuco, in the northeastern region of Brazil. HRÖNIR is an important electroacoustic act in activity in Brazil. Building exotic sound landscapes, the group mixes traditional instruments used in an unconventional way with pre-recorded material.

Finally, FRITHLANG, a project by Fábio Oliveira featuring MMeNDES and Cláudio Monjope, which uses elements of electronic pop music with bizarre image projections.

After 9 months, we managed to produce a new edition of the festival. The gap between the editions is bigger than how we'd like it to be, but there were strong reasons for that. The first idea was to have a new edition every two months, but it's impossible to produce an event like this. The problem is that you can't produce anything without support, and this event isn't very 'supportable'. We managed to get the Ruins Park support and things are back on track. For us, to produce a  happening like this is to create a unique aesthetic moment. And that's what they call 'art'."

About the place:

"Set high up on the hill with a view of the entire city, from Santos Dumont Airport to Urca, the Park has become a superb belvedere. Right below are the Lapa Arches. Open to the public, it is what was left of Palacete Murtinho Nobre, once home to Laurinda Santos Lobo. The house was one of the major meeting places of representatives of the city's cultural life until the death of the hostess in 1946. The City Hall has recreated from ruins the culture that lived there once. The park houses an exhibition room, auditorium and cafeteria for the comfort of visitors, music shows, happy hours and reading of literary texts. Outside, popular shows are presented and on weekends there is a special program for children. Three stores high, the house in brick, metal and glass calls attention for its architecture and style."
